FAT CLUB MIX 0014 - LEE MORTIMER

As i'm sure you guys are now aware, the fam over here at Gyal Seh Bruschetta are a huge fan of mixes. Whether that be a party mix, a soulful mix, dubstep, funk, tech, chill, whatever, we like it. To stick with this here's a mix Lee Mortimer did for the Fat Club.

This mix is what I would class as a 'party mix'. Every track on this mix makes me wanna get up, go out and party. It opens with a funky, adrenaline pumping, dance floor destroyer from Drumattic Twins thats had a 'disco edit' by Peo De Pitte. Jam packed with Lee's own tracks and remix's are other scene smashers such as, Drop Top - Machete (eeeeeeuuuuuuuggghhhhhh son) and Dirty Super Car - Get A Grip (Maximillian Remix), of which the latter with its change in depth and tempo is sure to twist some heads. Check the mix below.

FACT 186/ BLUNTED ROBOTS

Fly new mix from promising new label, Blunted Robots. The label owned by Brackles & Shortstuff debuted last year with Martin Kemp's (Brackles brother) 'No Charisma'. Since then there have been 3 other 12'' releases, one from Martin Kemp, and one from Night Slug 'head-honcho' Bok Bok, alongside the track 'Pipey D' by Brackles & Shortstuff.
Their 5th 12'', a collaboration between Brackles & Shortsuff,  will be released at the back end of November and to celebrate this, aswell as the first birthday of the label they'll be taking over room 3 at Fabric on the 15th October. Brackles & Shortstuff will be featured alongside Scratha DVA, Martin Kemp and Doc Daneeka.

FACT mix 186 by Blunted Robots (Brackles and Shortstuff)

The mix is pact full of fresh, unreleased, bass-driven beauties from the label amongst some future release material from the likes of DJ Dom & Terrible Shock. One of my favourite tracks at the moment, which willbe featuring on the 'Gyal Seh Top 10' is Shortstuff's 'Naughty Step'. Warbling bass and distant claps giving the track depth and darkness really shows you the direction of these unique artists.

Last but certainly not least, is a DJ who I have been seeing a lot of on bills recently, he goes by the name of Deadboy. Signed to Jackmasters Numbers label he is obviously in good hands, so I decided to find a mix he had done and with no real recent ones I clocked he had done one for Fact way back in January (Yeh I know im massively late on this one!) Still it gives a real insight into this kids sound and what he plays. From South Landan he offers mainly a grime infussed sound along with twisted synth and uplifting beats with plenty of female vocal involved. A highly rated mix by many, see what you think HERE

Tracklist:
1. Three Chairs - No Drum Machine Pt.2 (three chairs)
2. Deadboy - Brock Lee Riddim (Well Rounded)
3. Deadboy - Heartbreaker (Well Rounded)

SKULL CRACK

Heard this track over the weekend and I just cant get it out of my head. The bass is heavy and squished and the vocals have been chopped-up, shredded and destroyed. The tracks by Dibiase and its called 'Skull Crack'. Its out now on itunes, released on Alpha Pup records. Here's the video which is just as boasty as the track.

TRACK OF THE DIZAY!

HOLD YUH REMIX

Newham Generals frontman D Double E features heavily on this new bass bopper from Steel Cities own Toddla T. With a 'tub thumping' bass line and some soothing lyrics from the jamaican star this is one for the ladies, and those guys who wanna skank... next to the ladies. POW!

CLUB INFINTY SATURDAY NIGHT

Kingdom’s monthly Club Infinity bash with Dre Skull and pals is back this Saturday (Sep. 18th) at Santos Party Haus, featuring guest sets from Dubbel Dutch and Dipset’s MPC monster araabMUZIK. Not to be missed, but in case you need further convincing (shame on you!) Kingdom has dropped some mp3 treats as a taste of what the evening has in store. See Kingston X Kingdom post.

WEEZY F BABY GONE WEEZY F CRAZY

New old school tip from Lil Wayne called 'Im not human being'. The first time I listened to it, I was blown away at how old school it sounded, yet, it's so fresh with loads of bass and loads of hot new rhymes. Wayne has a new EP coming out on September 27th called 'Not a human being'. Coincidentally its also his 28th birthday.

KINGSTON X KINGDOM

Brooklyn based badman Kingdom has had a busy year. He released an epic EP back in February called Mind Reader, followed by an array of monster remixes. Then at the back end of July he dropped another EP on (in my opinion) Label of the year Night Slugs called That Mystic, featuring some powerhouse tracks by the name of 'Fogs' and 'Pang'. He's also managed to squeeze in mixes for Fabric & Discobelle.
Throughout all of his music there is definitely a hip-hop influence, with samples galore and deep bass throughout. Kingdom has put his own twist on Sean Kingston's new track Letting Go, featuring the Queen of Hip-Hop Nicki Minaj. With the tracks big 'synthy' (not a real word) melody already giving the track an already fresh sound, he adds a fresh beat in the background to give it a much more 'housey' (again not a real word) vibe to it. I like it, you'll definitely like it, and im pretty sure your gyal seh she like it too.

HUSH (IGGY,IGGY)

Been keeping an eye on Spoek Mathambo for a while now, with some big tracks under his belt (Mshini Wam & War On Words) he's starting to make some waves in the biz. Now, he features on a track coming from Munich based DJ Tim Turbo's new EP 'Hush (Iggy, Iggy)'. Also featuring on the track is Gnucci Banana.

SILVERBACK RECORDS PRESENTS...NGUZUNGUZU MIX

Eccentric bass duo, Nguzunguzu have put together a mix for Belgian Label, Silverback Records. And oh my gosh it's tight. The opening track is an absolute B-More Stomper! bombing you in the face with big, bad bass drums, and a monster soul clap which makes the track so intense. There's also some tidy tracks from Night Sluggers, Lil Silva and Kingdom. I don't want to spoil any other surprises this mix has in store so listen below to make up your own mind.
The mix is a teaser of whats to come from the LA based twosome, with a new EP on the way, Mirage, which this mix features 4 of the 5 tracks on the EP. They are building up a lot of support both sides of the atlantic. Mirage EP is out on the 11th October 2010, on Silverback.

The mix is funky and fresh and very synth orientated with lots of heavy over-bearing drums up uplifting melodies. Look out for that 'jittery' house on 'Hit That' and also the huge bass line on 'War' featuring Jenna G. Big! Catch the guys at Biennial Fest this Saturday!

BRUSCHETTA FM LAUNCH PARTY

Saturday 11th September is a date that will stick in the minds of a lot of people, firstly we must remember the victims of 9/11 9 years prior, secondly it was the day that an american pastor was planning to burn 1000 copies of the Quran, and thirdly, it was American rapper Ludacris's birthday. But for most of us this day will be remembered as the day that Bruschetta FM held its launch party.
The night went off with a bang. 'Sepher & Kobe', alongside DJ Hassassin played out some monster cuts and tunes ranging from P Money's edit of Doctor P's 'Sweet Shop' to Toddla T's freshly released track 'Sky Surfin'. From a secret location in Stafford the pair played to a large crowd and also had listeners locked on over the internet. Apart from a few technical hitches which were eventually sorted out the show ran pretty smoothly. This weeks show featured West Midlands based DJ Hassassin who dropped on the show to offer his current top 5 tracks and to plug his new company.
Sepher & Kobe will be on again this Saturday at Bruschetta FM headquarters to bring you the hottest cuts in D 'N' B, Dubstep and all other bass driven genre's. Chill out, tune in and remember, WHAT DID YA GYAL SEH?
